Levees:

Birmingham Levee Repair

Damon Pursell Construction completed theBirmingham Levee Repair. This work was performed for the Birmingham Levee District and included correcting massive erosion that threatened the existing levee this project required the construction of a sheet pile wall, regarding the slopes and protecting the slopes with Rip Rap. All of the work was done along a creek so close to the Missouri River that we had to build a temporary dike to stop the rising river from flooding the project. The Rip Rap was produced in our Quarry. The project was completed to the Corps of Engineers approval. Total contract amount being $746,000.00.

Birmingham Rip-Rap Overlay

Damon Pursell Construction completed the Birmingham Rip-Rap Overlay. This work was performed for the Birmingham Levee District and included: Producing Rock, Haul, and Overlay existing Rip Rap on a Missouri River levee with Corps of Engineers inspection. Total contract amount being $135,000.00.

Missouri River Mitigation Project

Damon Pursell Construction completed the Missouri River Mitigation Project. This work was performed for the United States Army Corps of Engineers and included: Constructing 4 miles of new levee along the Missouri River in the Overton Bottoms. Total contract amount being $927,000.00

Kansas River Rip Rap Overlay

Damon Pursell Construction completed the Kansas River Rip Rap Overlay. This work was performed for the Kaw Valley Drainage District and included: Produce Rock, Haul and Overlay existing Rip Rap on a Kansas River Levee without disturbing the existing Rip Rap. Total contract amount being $400,000.00

Landfills:

Lime Sludge Lagoon Reconstruction-
City of Liberty, Missouri

Damon Pursell Construction completed the Lime Sludge Lagoon Reconstruction.  This work was performed for the City of Liberty, Missouri and included: Excavation and removal of 100,000 cy of lime sludge from a holding basin and spreading it on farm land as a soil additive, Piping and Grading of the lagoons. This job provided a considerable challenge because it was our responsibility to locate the farm land, test the soil, and negotiate with the land owners for the application of the lime in order to improve their soil. We were able to remove almost 20% more lime sludge than the original contract amount in the original contract time. Total contract amount being $1,400,000.00.

Courtney Ridge Landfill - Phase 1 -
Sugar Creek, Missouri

Damon Pursell Construction completed the construction of the Courtney Ridge Landfill - Phase 1 in Sugar Creek, Missouri.  This work was performed for Waste Management of Missouri and included: Construction of an 11 acre landfill cell including Electrical System, Roadways, Leachate Collection and Storage System, Grading, Placing and Compacting the clay cell liner and drainage layer. Total contract amount being $3,062,092.00

Courtney Ridge Recycling Facility, Cell 3A

Damon Pursell Construction completed the construction of the Courtney Ridge Recycling Facility, Cell 3A. This work was performed for Allied Waste Systems, Inc. and included: Construction of a 8- acre landfill cell, including Placing of the compacted clay liner, the Fusion Welded HDPE leachate drainage line, and Installation of the granular leachate drainage layer. Total contract amount being $758,000.00

Forestview Landfill Cell 7B/8A

Damon Pursell Construction completed the construction of the Forestview Landfill Cell 7B/8A. This work was performed for Allied Waste Systems, Inc. and included: Construction of an 8-Acre landfill cell, including: Connection to the existing cell, Excavation and Hauling, Placement of the Compacted Clay Liner, Leachate Drainage Piping, and Granular Drainage Layer. Total contract amount being $890,000.00

Forestview Landfill Cell 7B/8A

Damon Pursell Construction completed the construction of the Forestview Landfill Cell 7B/8A.  This work was performed for Allied Waste Systems, Inc. and included: Construction of an 8-Acre landfill cell including: Connection to the existing cell, Excavation and Hauling, Placement of the compacted clay liner, leachate drainage piping and granular drainage layer. Total contract amount being $889,900.00

Waterways:

Argosy Riverboat Mooring Basin

Damon Pursell Construction completed the Argosy Riverboat Mooring Basin. This work was performed for the Argosy Gaming Commission and included Construction of a Mooring Basin for the first Casino Riverboat in the Kansas City area. Work included Sheet Piling, Dewatering, Excavating 250,000 cubic yards, much of it below the flow line of the Missouri River, Rip Rap, and excavation of the river bottom with a Dragline on a Spud Barge. Total contract amount being $5,300,000.00.

Zona Rose Stream Restoration

Damon Pursell Construction completed the Zona Rosa Stream Restoration. This work was performed for the Applied Ecological Services and included the Improvement and beautification of a stream channel in the middle of a new upscale Shopping District. The work was closely scrutinized by a down stream lake home owner’s association and completed to their satisfaction. Total contract amount being $500,000.00.

Isle of Capri Casino - Booneville, Missouri

Damon Pursell Construction completed the Isle of Capri Casino in Booneville, Missouri. This work was performed for the Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc. and included site work and construction of the basin for a casino constructed on a barge, including installation of a bentonite fabric and clay liner to seal the basin against leakage. Total contract amount being $1,021,825.00
