Crooked Creek Apartments

General Contractor Signature Construction decided to build six new apartment buildings on a difficult hillside site that had been used as a dump for excess dirt and rock they turned to Damon Pursell Construction to perform all the Grading and Site Utilities. 20,000 cubic yards of unsuitable material had to be Excavated and Hauled off the site and 35,000 cubic yards of suitable fill had to be Hauled in and Compacted to strict engineered specifications. The contract totals $1.5 million dollars.

Pine Grove

For M & R Land L.L.C., Damon Pursell Construction performed the work at Pine Grove. It included: Clearing, Erosion Control, Grading, Storm Sewer, Sanitary Sewer, Waterline, Paving, Curb, and Seeding for a large 500+ lot new subdivision.Cost for this project $3,000,000.

Barr-E-Woods Apartment

Grading, Storm Sewers, Sanitary Sewers, and Water Lines to completer an eighteen building apartment complex for E-Partments The rock excavated for the project was crushed on site and used as backfill for the utilities and the buildings. Sandstone from the excavation was ground up using conventional earthwork equipment and used as low swell fill on the top of the building pads for $1,500,000.00.

Seven Bridges

Damon Pursell Construction was chosen by developer Central Platte Holdings to build another one of their award winning subdivisions. The work was valued at $500,000 and included Grading all the streets and Constructing retaining walls, water features, and entrance landscaping from large limestone blocks mined on site.

Crooked Creek Apartments

Developer Wesco Investments chose Damon Pursell Construction to perform $870,000 worth of Grading and Site Utilities for a new single family subdivision.

The Revello

The Revello at Briarcliff, L.L.C. hired us to perform the site work for the construction of a new upscale Condominium development that overlooks the Missouri River and downtown Kansas City, MO. The project includes; Grading, Storm Sewers, Sanitary Sewers, Water Lines, Paving, Curbs, Street Lights, Erosion Control, and Seeding. The rock excavated for the project was crushed on site and used as backfill for the utilities and the on site fill. Cost for this project:
$2,057,000.00.

Parkway Oaks

Damon Pursell Construction was hired by Residential Development, Inc. to develop the Parkway Oaks. This work included: Clearing, Grading, Erosion Control, and Curbs for a townhouse development and Street Widening for $395,000.00

Phase 3B Site Grading & Utilities

Damon Pursell Construction was hired by CMH-Parks, Inc. to develop the Clayton Estates - Phase 3B. This work included: Cleaning, Grading, Storm Sewers, Sanitary Sewers, and Water Lines for a large trailer park expansion for $732,000.00

School Developments:

New Liberty, Missouri Elementary School

Damon Pursell Construction is performing all the Grading and Excavation for general contractor Kraus Anderson on a 34 acre site with a 100,000 square foot building with improvements to the existing state highway. The total contract is $550,000.00

New Parkhill High School

For the Parkhill School District, Damon Pursell Construction did the Cleaning, Grading, Drainage, and Erosion Control drives, parking lot, track and ball fileds including a special trench drain for the track at the new Parkhill High School building. Cost for this project $1,494,000.00

Excelsior Springs Middle School

The Excelsior Springs School District hired Damon Pursell Construction to do the Clearing, Erosion Control, and Grading for a building site and ball fields at the Excelsior Springs Middle School for $521,000.00

Congress Middle School Sports Facility

The Parkhill School District hired Damon Pursell Construction to perform the work at the Congress Middle School Sports Facility consisting of: Grading, Drainage, Erosion Control, and Paving for new ball fields, Playground and Parking Lot for $317,500.00

6th Grade Attendance Center - Independence, Missouri

The Independence School District hired Damon Pursell Construction to perform the work at the 6th Grade Attendance Center in Independence, Missouri consisting of: Clearing, Erosion Control, Grading, Storm Sewer, Sanitary Sewer and Water Line for a new elementary school for $473,000.00.

Kansas City Police Academy

General Contractor Kraus Anderson choose Damon Pursell Construction to perform $1 million dollars worth of Grading and Excavation for the new 53 acre police training academy including 100,000 square feet of buildings and a driving/motorcycle training track.

Woodlands Racing Facility - Kansas City, Kansas

In the summer of 1989 betting on horse and dog racing was suddenly legal in the State of Kansas. In the rush to be the first racing facility open in the state Damon Pursell Construction was hired by the general contractor to perform the major site work. Clearing the trees from over 100 acres, excavating and placing 800,000 cubic yards of rock, constructing all the storm sewers, sanitary sewers, and waterlines, and finish grading for the new horse and greyhound racing facility called The Woodlands Racing Facility in Kansas City, Kansas was done on time and within budget. Damon Pursell Construction’s contract for this project was $13,000,000.00.

Renaissance in the Northland

When Prospect North L.L.C. looked at a rough, wooded, rocky, 60 acre site they envisioned a large upscale mixed use development in Kansas City North called Renaissance in the Northland. Damon Pursell Construction was contracted for a sum of $3,266,000 to Clear the site, Demolish houses, Control Erosion, Drill and Blast 85,000 cubic yards of rock. Excavate, haul and place 560,000 cubic yards of earth, rock and shale, Grade for city streets, construct Storm Sewers, Sanitary Sewers, and Water Mains..

Chouteau Crossing

Difficult site conditions are nothing new to Damon Pursell Construction. The Hardy Peterson Realty Co. wanted to build a large shopping center, Chouteau Crossing, on an old recreational lake that had become a dumpsite for rock, dirt and demolished paving for many years. The work included: Clearing, Over-Excavating and Backfilling unstable soils, moving a total of 275,000 cubic yards. Rough Grading, Erosion Control, Installation of a large Precast Box Culvert, and Rip Rap Slope Protection for a contract amount of $1,146,000.00

Target Super Center T-1455

Damon Pursell Construction completed the Target Super Center located at Mo. Highway 152 and Flintclock Road in Kansas City, Mo. for Target Stores, Inc. This work included: Grading, Sanitary Sewer, Storm Sewer, and Waterline for a cost of $1,070,000.00.

Braircliff Village

When developer, Briarcliff Village L.L.C., wanted to construct the next phase of their large upscale development with panoramic views of the Kansas City skyline, they choose Damon Pursell Construction to perform all the site work. The work for a new commercial shopping and office complex includes; Grading, Rock Excavation, Retaining Walls, Site Utilities, Parking Lot Lighting, Paving, Sidewalks and Erosion Control. The total Contract is $2.7 million.

Wal-Mart Distribution Center - Harrisonville, Missouri

Damon Pursell Construction was hired by Wal-Mart, Inc. for the grading of an 80 acre site for the construction of a new Wal-mart Distribution Center. This project required moving approx. 750,000 cubic yards of dirt and shale of which approximately 600,000 cubic yards was moved, placed and compacted in 3 weeks. Work was performed 7 days per week and 12 hours a day when necessary to meet the very aggressive schedule. Additional work included Clearing, Fly Ash Stabilization, and Placement of Base Rock for the warehouse floor subgrade. GPS Layout and grade staking was performed by our own forces. Contract Amount for this project $2,945,000.00.

Lafarge Sugar Creek II Site Grading- Drainage & Paving

A fast-track schedule was required of Damon Pursell Construction to perform the Final Grading, Paving and Storm Sewer work for the new LaFarge Cement Plant in Sugar Creek, Mo. in the Summer of 2002. When required, to meet the schedule yet accommodate the day-to-day operations of the plant, work was performed during 12-hour work days and on weekends. The contract totaled $2,500,000.00

Nearman Water Treatment Facility - Kansas City, Kansas

Damon Pursell Construction completed the Nearman Water Treatment Facility for the Kansas City, Kansas Board of Public Utilities for $992,000.00. The work included: Excavation, Finish Grading, Building Excavation and Backfill for a new water treatment facility.

Mead Warehouse - St. Joseph, Missouri

Butler Construction Realty needed a large, fast acting, grading contractor for the Mead Warehouse in St. Joseph, Missouri. Damon Pursell Construction was contracted to perform the Clearing, Rough Grading, Fly Ash Soil Stabilization and Finish Grading for a contract sum of $920,000.00

Parks and Soccer Field Complexes.

Happy Rock Park & Road Improvements

Damon Pursell Construction was the low bidder on the City of Gladstone, Mo’s $1.4 Million new soccer field complex. The work included Restrooms, Picnic Shelter, Playground, Walking Trails, Parking Lots, Improvements to the Existing Street, Seeding, Trees, Grading and Site Utilities.

Hidden Valley Park

Damon Pursell Construction performed the Site Grading, Storm Sewers, Sanitary Sewers, and Waterline at the new Hidden Valley Park for the Blue Springs Parks and Recreation Department. We were also the General Contractor for the total development of the park, overseeing construction of the Roadways, Parking Lots, Concession Buildings, and Landscaping. Total contract amount being $2,484,000.00.

Stump Park

The City of Shawnee, Kansas choose Damon Purcell Construction to execute the contract for Grading of 150,000 cubic yards of dirt, erosion control, and seeding for a large soccer and football field complex, Stump Park. The cost to complete this project was $480,000.00.

Tiffany Springs Soccer Fields

Damon Pursell Construction worked for The City of Kansas City, Missouri to begin construction of the Tiffany Springs Soccer Fields, a large soccer field complex including: Grading, Erosion Control, Drainage, Paving of drives and parking area, Bleachers, Goals, and Seeding. Contract amount for this project $574,000.00.

Riverfront Boat Ramp Access

The City of Kansas City, Missouri choose Damon Purcell Construction to begin construction of a new Boat Ramp on the Missouri River to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. The work included constructing a Boat Ramp on dry ground and pushing it with three bulldozers into the river, an asphalt entrance road and parking lot, restroom, erosion control and seeding. Total cost for this project $460,000.00.
