Streets:

North Congress & North Congress and Tiffany Springs Road

Damon Pursell Construction used its $4.3 million dollar contract with the City of Kansas City, MO for North Congress Avenue to it’s advantage to be the low bidder on Platte County’s $3.6 million dollar North Congress Avenue and Tiffany Springs Avenue project. The two separate but adjacent projects totaled 2.1 miles. The work consisted of the replacement of existing two lane improved and unimproved streets with improved four lane divided avenues with turn lanes, traffic signals, roundabouts, street lights, retaining walls, sidewalks, and storm sewers. All of the Management, Grading, Excavation, Storm Sewer, Waterline, and Sanitary Sewer were self performed.

Jones Meyer Road

Damon Pursell Construction was the low bidder on Platte County’s, $900,000 upgrade and realignment of an existing county road. The work included Grading, Paving, a Bridge, Storm Sewer, Fencing and Erosion Control.

Maplewoods Parkway

Damon Pursell Construction completed Maplewood Parkway for the City of Kansas City, Missouri. This work included: This project consisted of the construction of 4,400 feet of new four lane divided street and 4,100 feet of new highway on/off ramps. In order to make the required grades 138,000 cubic yard of rock and 92,000 cubic yards of dirt had to be moved. Some of the other work included: Storm Sewers, Curbs, Paving, Sidewalks, Bike Paths, Fencing, Seeding, Box Culverts, and Erosion Control.Total contract amount being $3,500,000.00

Adams Dairy Parkway-
Lee’s Summit, MO

Damon Pursell Construction completed the Adams Dairy Parkway in Lee’s Summit, Missouri for the City of Blue Springs, Missouri. This work included: Construction of 1.5 miles of new roadway, including: Clearing, Grading, Storm Sewer, Waterline, Sanitary Sewer relocation, Electrical Duct Bank, Curb, Asphalt Pavement, Sidewalks, Seeding and Erosion Control. Also included with this project was the placement of a 12’ x 12’ triple cell precast box culvert. Total contract amount being $4,369,600.00.

West Platte Road -
Roadway & Levee Const.

Damon Pursell Construction completed the West Platte Road for the City of Riverside, Missouri. This work included: Reconstruction of 3/4 of a mile of existing street from two lane unimproved road to four lane divided City street with turn lanes. All work done while maintaining traffic busy two way traffic. The project includes: Storm Sewers, Corps of Engineers Levee. Total contract amount being $3,075,400.00.

South Baker Road - Sugar Creek, Missouri

Damon Pursell Construction completed the South Baker Road in Sugar Creek, Missouri for Waste Management of Missouri.  This work included: Roadway Construction - Grading, Concrete Curbs, Asphalt Paving, Retaining Walls and Seeding. Total contract amount being $432,102.00

Todd George Road, Phase 3
Lee’s Summit, MO

Damon Pursell Construction completed the Todd George Road, Lee’ Summit, Missouri for the City of Lee’s Summit. This project was the winner of an APWA award Transportation Public Works Project of the Year. The project required the construction of a 1 mile of new four lane divided City Street including: Clearing, Grading, Storm Sewer, Curbs, Paving, Sidewalks, Fencing, Seeding, Trees, and Modular Block Walls. This project included the construction and placement of a 12’ x 8’ double cell precast box culvert. Total contract amount being $2,599,,000.00.

High Drive-
City of Riverside, MO

Damon Pursell Construction completed the High Drive for the City of Riverside, Missouri. We took this project over from a previous contractor that was removed from the project by the City due to delays. The work was the reconstruction of an unimproved two lane City Street including: Grading, Paving, Masonry walls, Fencing, Sodding, Landscaping, Driveways, Sidewalks, Traffic Control, and Pavement Striping.  Total contract amount being   $1,480,000.00

Highways:

Bruce R. Watkins Drive-
Kansas City, Missouri

Damon Pursell Construction completed the construction of the Bruce R. Watkins Drive in Kansas City, Missouri. This work was performed for Missouri Department of Transportation and included: Grading, Excavation of 420,000 cubic yards of dirt and shale and 280,000 cubic yards of rock. Drilling and Blasting, Paving, Storm Sewer, Erosion Control, Seeding, Utility Relocation for new highway through the middle of midtown Kansas City. The majority of the excavated material had to be hauled two miles on city streets. Total contract amount being $9,200,000.00.

Missouri Highway 69 and Argosy Parkway -
 Riverside, Missouri

Damon Pursell Construction completed the Missouri Highway 69 and Argosy Parkway in Riverside, Missouri. This work was performed for Argosy Gaming Commission and included: Roadway Construction for an interstate including, Grading, Concrete Paving, Base Rock Subgrade. Total contract amount being $1,331,000.00.

Barry Road & I-29 Improvements

Missouri State Highway Rte. 169 -
Clay County, Missouri

Damon Pursell Construction completed the Missouri State Highway Route 169 in Clay County, Missouri. This work was performed for Missouri Highway and Transportation Department and included: Cleaning, Demolition, Grading, Storm Sewers, Waterline relocation, Concrete Paving, Asphalt Paving, Striping and Seeding for a new 4-lane highway. Total contract amount being $2,648,000.00.

Kansas Department of Transportation -
151st Street Bridge over I-35

Damon Pursell Construction completed the 151st Street Bridge over I-35. This work was performed for Kansas Department of Transportation and included: Excavation and Haul-off of unstable fill material, and installation of shot rock to replace excavated material. This work was around and under an existing bridge supported by false work. Total contract amount being $1,163,000.00.

Damon Pursell Construction completed the Barry Road and I-29 Improvements. This work was performed for Barry North Center L.L.C. and included: Construction of an eastbound turn lane from northbound I-29 to Barry Road. Widening and improvements to Barry Road to handle increased traffic flow generated by retail development. Included Demolition, Grading, Pavement, Curb, Traffic Signals and Seeding. Our work was inspected and approved by the developer’s engineer, the City of Kansas City, Mo. and the Missouri State Highway Department. Total contract amount being $632,000.00.

Railways:

KCP&L Montrose Railroad Spur - Montrose, Missouri

Damon Pursell Construction performed the Construction of a 2 mile railroad loop to serve the new coal dumper system at KCP&L Montrose Railroad Spur in Montrose, MO. This work was performed for Kansas City Power and Light Company and included: Grading, Storm Sewer, Sub-ballast, Bridge Construction, Railroad Track Construction, and Seeding. Total contract amount being $1,770,000.00.

LaFarge Sugar Creek I Slide Repair

Damon Pursell Construction completed the LaFarge Sugar Creek I Slide Repair in Sugar Creek, Missouri. This work was performed for LaFarge Corporation and included: Grading, Storm Sewer and Construction of a Concrete road to Repair a slope that had failed in order to protect the BNSF Main Line Track. Total contract amount being $789,000.00.

Airports:

Downtown Runway Rehabilitation

General Contractor Loch Sand & Gravel chose Damon Pursell Construction to perform $2.1 million dollars worth of Demolition and Haul off of an existing runway. The concrete was Recycled by Damon Pursell Construction’s Recycling Center in Riverside, MO and sold as base rock.
