Communications:

Walnut Street Trolley Track Removal

Damon Pursell Construction completed the Walnut Street Trolley Track Removal in Kansas City, Missouri.  This work was performed for the City Kansas City, Missouri and included: Excavation and removal of the center of a busy downtown street for three blocks, the old trolley tracks below the pavement, granite pavers, and earth so the phone company could install a new communication duct bank for the new H&R Block World Headquarters. The project included traffic control, hauling in backfill, and repaving the street. Total contract amount being $308,505.00

Fire Lines:

KCP&L Montrose Fireline - Montrose, Missouri

Damon Pursell Construction completed the KCP&L Montrose Fireline in Montrose, Missouri. This work was performed for Kansas City Power and Light Company and included: Construction of a Fusion Welded waterline to serve the Montrose Power Plant. Total contract amount being $182,000.00

Power Plants:

Aquila - Sibley Generating Station Ash Removal

Damon Pursell Construction completed the Aquila, Sibley Generating Station Ash Removal, Sibley, Missouri.  This work was performed for Aquila, Inc. and included: Excavation and removal of 210,000 cy of fly ash from a holding basin and placing it in a large fill. This job provided a considerable challenge because fly ash, a by product of burning coal, is stored in a earthen basin in a semi-liquid state and had to be removed quickly as the power plants storage capacity was almost exhausted. In order to dry the ash we purchased a specialized piece of equipment similar to a large rubber tired loader but with large paddles on the front. The paddles would turn the ash and aerate it, making it much easier to handle. A large marsh buggy with a long reach Cat 330 excavator mounted on it was rented in Louisiana. The marsh buggy was able to float/track through the sludge and load our Texex TA40 off road trucks. With the help of these two special pieces of equipment we were able to remove more fly ash than the original contract amount of fly ash in the original contract time. Total contract amount being $1,590,000.00

Water Lines:

Liberty Waterline Relocation

Damon Pursell Construction completed the Liberty Waterline Relocation, Liberty, Missouri  This work was performed for Clay County Public Water & Sewer District #2 and included: Multiply relocations of a waterline to accommodate the construction of a new roadway.Total contract amount being $275,000.00

Sewer Lines:

Emergency Sewer Repairs

Damon Pursell Construction completed the Emergency Sewer Repairs in Wyandotte County. This work was performed for the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and included: Remove and replace pipe and structures in the streets and alleyways of an older residential neighborhood. All of the work was done with very restricted access and as little disturbance to homeowners as possible. Total contract amount being $500,000.00
